You are doing the right thing taking her to the vet ASAP. That is the only reliable way to diagnose it. There are a number of possible causes of vomiting blood. It can be very serious (e.g. cancer), but not always (e.g. polyp). I don't think this would be caused by kidney failure or diabetes.
