Help! My villagers in Virtual Villagers 2 won't have children.?

I only have 9 villagers, 2 are women and they won't have babies. I've got over 10,000 food and they're all healthy but after many many many attempts at having them 'go indoors' the 2 women won't have babies. They're aged 50 and 56 could they be too old? Is there an age limit to the women having kids?
